MadFlex had better wordplay. Generally too much swearing, made them seem repetitive and uncreative.

Simple chords made awesome.

Sure it sounds like some other songs. Mostly people think some songs sound like other songs only after they have been prompted. Most people would not naturally associated this song with Apologize until someone mentioned it.

Another thing is that this song uses the same 4 chord progression the entire time. This chord progression pops up all the time in modern music because it sounds awesome and is easy to write melodies for.

It even comes up in other places on Newgrounds. Go listen to Syringes by ioneofmany and you will hear the same exact chords but in a different key. The genius in this song is making a simple chord progression sound awesome. four chords stay interesting for all four minutes. I like it.
